Best from 2023 through 2046
juicy blueberry and raspberry fruit
This needs to develop more depth but it should be able to do so if allowed a few years of cellaring
concentrated and muscular flavors possess unusually good refinement in the context of what is typical for the appellation while delivering breathtakingly good persistence on the well-balanced finish
there is a floral quality here that I loved and hadn't seen in previous vintages of this single-vineyard red
Chartogne Taillet, Chemin Reims Extra Brut other_regions_australia Best from 2023 through 2046The 2018 Extra Brut Chemin de Reims, 100% Chardonnay, deftly marries varietal expression with the tremendous resonance all the wines show in 2018. Citrus peel, crushed rocks, chamomile and dried herbs are all amplified in a Blanc de Blancs that presents the more savory, earthy side of Chardonnay. Even with all its obvious textural intensity and sheer power, the 2018 remains bright and nicely lifted throughout. There is a feeling of translucence here
